Without a doubt, the most comfortable way to heat your home is hydronic radiant heating. Air Technology is known for the design and installation of radiant heating systems in Lake County, IL. Whether you're retrofitting an existing home or business, or customizing a new home, we have the proven expertise to design and install both boilers and luxurious radiant heat. Radiant heat systems use warm water circulated through PEX (cross-linked polyethylene) tubing in or under floors to heat the home. This provides a more constant and even heat than forced air systems.
If you're looking for a new boiler for your Lake Villa, IL home or business, we feature IBC Boilers. Click here for more information.
In floor heat works well with most floor surfaces, whether it is tile, hardwood, laminates, carpets, or concrete. The team at Air Technology has the experience and training to properly design your radiant system based on the structures heat loads, the radiant heating method, and the expected floor coverings. Applications include:
Call us for a complete load calculation and radiant system design. Anyone that has spent a cold Illinois winter in a warm and efficient radiant heated house will never want to live anywhere else!
Floor heating is much more effective at distributing heat than forced air heating because it delivers heat evenly throughout the space rather from small force air outlets. There is no over and under heating and unlike forced air systems there are no drafts and temperature fluctuations. Occupants and pets are more comfortable at lower temperatures resulting in lower heating costs.
A good boiler is typically the heart of the system, generating warm water which is then distributed to various zones with pumps and controlled by room or area thermostats. Each indoor zone can be controlled separately. There is no real limit to the number of zones available and this results in the greatest control and comfort. We feature the complete line of IBC natural gas boilers which are the perfect companion to a well designed radiant heating system.
Here in north central Illinois, having a clear, dry driveway or walkway can be a wonderful feature. Shading or north or east facing walkways may make it nearly impossible to keep snow and ice accumulation from your drive or walkways. Our snow melting systems are designed to help protect family, friends, or customers. We can melt snow and ice by circulating an antifreeze solution through PEX tubing that is either embedded in concrete or installed beneath brick pavers.
Sensors to detect outside air temperature and moisture are embedded outdoors in system surface. These sensors will communicate with your system to determine if the snowmelt system needs to be turned on and will activate the system automatically. The sensors only activate when moisture is present AND the outdoor temperature is below freezing. This eliminates the need for the system to be running simply when air temperature drops below freezing and, therefore, make the system very energy efficient.
The outdoor units above can be paired with a broad array of indoor units including:
